However one of the most satisfying experiences to maximize online profits is through Domain Flipping. This method consist of buying Domain Names for cheap and sell them for profits. As all with other Money making techniques, using this method one need to search and learn in order to gather expertise in the Domain Name Industry.

What are Domain Names?

Similar to when addresses are assigned to Houses for identification purposes, Domain Names are unique addresses of a website that visitors type in the browser URL bar to view your website. The value of Domain Name depends on various factors including the extension used, brandability, Commerciality, Domain Age, Back-links, Keywords and more. Domain Names can be registered at several Domain registrars. We suggest using these 2 registrars when registering your domain names, NameSilo.com or NameCheap.com since they offer the cheapest prices on the market.

When buying a Domain Names we tend to stick to the three top extensions which are the .com, .net and .org but we also keep an eye on premium domains that have the potential to be sold for profits even if these are in other inferior extensions.

Expired domain names Cycle:

A great way to acquire domain names is to search for premium expired domain names. In order to grab these domains one need to understand the Expiry Process. Thousand of expired domain names expire each and every day.

Renewal Grace Period

When a domain owner name fail to renew the domain name by the expiry date the status of this domain name will be changed to a 30 day Renewal Grace Period. The owner can still renew their domains during this grace period without extra additional fees.

Registrar Hold Period

Once the grace period ends, the domain status is changed to Registrar Hold which also lasts for 30 days. During this period, the domain owner has the possibility to renew the expired domain but will incur additional fees.

During the registrar hold status, the registrar will put these domains in an Auction where those interested will have to pay a bidding fee and will be given the possibility to bid on these domains. The Domain will be sold to the Highest bidder. But still the winning bidder will have to wait for the 30 days of the registrar hold period before the domain name is pushed to their account. If the owner succeeds in renewing the domain name during this period, the owner will take possession of the domain and the bidding fee will be refunded to the auction winner.

If the domain is not renewed by the owner or won in an Auction it is then listed by the registrar as a Closeout sale for a much cheaper price.Same principal as in the Auction process applies i.e Within these 30 days the owner still have the chance to renew the domain name and regain its ownership

Redemption Period

Once the registration hold period ends and the domain is still neither renewed or purchased, the domain name is then put in a redemption period status which lasts for another 30 days. The owner can once again renew the domain name for a redemption plus renewal fees.

Pending Delete

After the end of the redemption period the domain status will be changed to the final pending delete stage ends and the domain will eventually be deleted and released for public registration. More details and secrets on how to find great expired domain names will be published soon.
